چکیده

This study aims to evaluate the secondary metabolites, cytotoxicity, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities of four selected seaweeds Padina pavonica, Taonia atomaria, Jania rubens, Corallina elongata. The maximum value phenolic content (176.7 ± 6.9 mg gallic acid equivalents/g crude extract) tannin (26.5 4.3 tannic extract), was shown in methanol extract J. rubens P. respectively. While ethanol T. atomaria recorded highest values total flavonoid (374.1 ±27.4 quercetin saponins (30.2 0.7 cholesterol extract, respectively) compared other seaweeds. Methanol C. elongata exhibited greatest alkaloids (25.8 4.4 22.7 2.6 mg/g d wt.). pavonica established DPPH radical scavenging activity (55.7% 0.1) at 50 μg/mL. Among seaweed extracts, demonstrated α-amylase inhibition capacity (66.3% 0.0). species effectively prevented hypotonicity-induced haemolysis a concentration-dependent manner with diclofenac potassium as standard anti-inflammatory drug. In vitro, reported results also supported safety non-toxicity extracts on WI-38 cell line lower concentrations. growth HeLa Cancer Cell Lines drug Cisplatin.

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Sasa quelpaertensis Leaf Extracts

Oxidative stress plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of inflammation (Winrow et al., 1993), which is a physiological response that protects the body from stimuli including infections and tissue injury. The magnitude of the inflammatory response is crucial, and insufficient responses result in immunodeficiency, which can lead to infection and cancer. Excessive responses cause morbidity and...

Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Peanut Skin Extracts

Peanut skins are regarded as a low economic value by-product of the peanut industry; however, they contain high levels of bioactive compounds including catechins and procyanidins, which are known for their health-promoting properties. The in vitro antioxidant activity of peanut skin extracts (PSE) has been reported but the associated anti-inflammatory properties have not been widely examined. T...

Anti-inflammatory Activity and Antioxidant Potential of Aqueous Extracts from Stem Bark of Geoffroea decorticans

In the present work we investigated, for the first time, the anti-inflammatory activity and the antioxidant properties of aqueous and ethanolic extracts, obtained from stem bark of Geoffroea decorticans (Gill. ex Hook. et Arn.) Burk. (Fabaceae). G. decorticans, commonly known as “chañar” or “chañarcillo”, is a traditional argentinean plant used as emollient, balsamic, antitussive, expectorant a...
